Known for their bonkers live shows, which feature a continually rotating combination of complex and often bizarre instrumentation, eccentric London outfit Gentle Stranger have dropped a taste of their freshly announced debut album Love and Unlearn. Centred around an eerie vocal loop performed ex-band member and Audiobooks vocalist Evangeline Ling, 'Dunce Disco Anthem' is a creepy carnival of sounds and textures. Touching on elements, of aggressive techno, brooding post-punk and frankly ridiculous video game music, 'Dunce Disco Anthem' covers a hell of a lot of ground over its less than 2-minute duration. Recorded during a writing trip to Margate, which took place almost two and a half years ago, 'Dunce Disco Anthem' serves as a concise and completely accurate sonic representation of Gentle Stranger's utterly limitless attitude. Love and Unlearn will be released by Moshi Moshi offshoot PRAH Recordings on 31st January. -Holly Mullineaux
